What to Donate
MONEY
Donate any amount online with a credit or debit card or mail a check to support these programs.
- High school girl sponsorships ($300 to fully sponsor a student for a year)
- Build and operate a new Bor Central High School
- Build and operate a Vocational Training Center in Bor
TIME
Volunteer Tutors
We need volunteers to tutor our scholars in the key subjects of reading, mathematics, and science to help them pass their National High School Certificate exams. We sponsor 20 girls in two secondary schools in or near Bor and plan to sponsor girls in more areas of South Sudan.
Volunteer Requirements: must be skilled in reading, mathematics, and science and able to help the students develop competencies in these key subjects.
Tutoring Schedule
Mon – Fri 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM for seminars, tutorials, and individual student coaching
Frequency
Tutors meet their students twice weekly for 1-hour tutoring sessions
Where
Volunteers travel to the scholar’s secondary school
Volunteer Tutor Qualifications
- Volunteers must possess a College Diploma in English Language, Mathematics, and Sciences. Previous experience as a teacher and mentor is preferred.
- Volunteer tutors shall use teaching materials and texts provided by the AAF Education Department.
IN-KIND
Office Space and Equipment
One of our daunting operational challenges is not having an office and office equipment in Bor. We are seeking a small office space near Bor where our volunteer team can coordinate operations and programs for our students in Jonglei State. We are seeking in-kind equipment donations to help the team work on their assignments effectively and efficiently, work with girls we sponsor, and work with the community.
